So, just this past week Ben and I have been travelling around Ireland in a cheap, little Wicked Campervan and it was amazing! The scenery is absoloutely stunning and I can understand how Ireland is the inspiration for movies such as Love, Rosie, Leap Year, Harry Potter, the romantic P.S. I love you and hit TV shows such as Game of Thrones! So being surrounded by all this beauty how could you not imagine how dreamy and fairytale like a wedding here would be among the fairies and borrows!
Check out some of the scenery we captured below and then scroll down to see some real Irish weddings that I found featured in the Irish Wedding Magazine; Confetti!

I love that the tag line for this wedding is 'Happiness, sunshine, blue skies and gale force winds' because it perfectly sums up the time that we had in Ireland so I can very much understand how their planning may have been influenced by the elements Ireland is so well know for! On a blustery Spring daySara and Brian exchanged vows at a full, Annascaul Church then popped down to the local pub, The South Pole Inn, for a celebratory drink before their reception. Together with their friends and family Sara and Brian celebrated their love at Ballintaggart House in Dingle, Co Kerry. on the West Coast of Ireland after exchanging vows at Annascaul church. The photographer describes Ballintaggart House as one of those beautiful period houses that retains its old charm with old floor boards that creak when you walk on them and small rooms restored to their original state. A beautiful marquee beside the house was beautifully styled in soft vintage colours such as soft pinks, wood tones and ivory with bunches of wildflowers on every table, vintage tea cups and bunting all along the marquee. It is truely beautiful and romantic, be sure to take a look.
Diane & James wedding at Bellinter House, ON A SNOWY WINTERS DAY

How stunning is this picture! A crisp, day warmed by the love that these two share in this moment, and the sparkle of a golden, sequin gown. This beautiful couple chose to have a small, intimate wedding at Bellinter House, Nevin, co. Meath. Inside the library of Bellinter House, Diane and James said I do between floor to ceiling shelves of old books, under a golden, antique chandelier and by the warmth of a glowing fire. After venturing out into the magical grounds covered in frost and snow, Diane and James descended down a tiny spiral staircase to the beautifully lit wine cellar where all the guests were seated around a single table lit with glowing golden candles. The thing that I find most inspiring about thsi wedding is the intimacy and warmth. The guest list is so intimate, yet there is still so much beauty and detail considered in the styling that it feels like a romantic, hidden secret. Have a look and marvel at the magic.

The unique twist on the traditional wedding starts from the very proposal for this beautiful couple. James proposed to Marie with a silver promise ring! Rather than selecting an engagement ring by himself, James gaves Marie the promise ring which would then be converted in to a silver charm for a bracelt to be worn on their wedding day, and then together they went and chose the perfect engagement ring! So sweet. The couple chose to marry in the Dublin city hall for they instantly fell in love with the space and the architecture, then celebrate with friends and family at The Winding Stair restaurant along the quays. This couple are so intimate and placed so much on celebrating each other and the love their shared by ensuring they had many moments across their day where it was just the two of them together, starting with a leisurely, romantic stroll around Dublin after their ceremony and ending the night with their first dance, alone, back in their hotel suite. For some inspiration have a look at their day!
So Ireland is so dreamy it is like a fairytale come to life! If you are in Ireland you must be so grateful for what you have right on your doorstep, and if you are not in Ireland.... Consider this as a beautiful and alternative location for a destination wedding!
